Near Las Vegas, Mount Charleston towers 11,916 feet above the neon lights of the entertainment capital of the world.

Very few people who visit Las Vegas bother to notice this majestic mountain. The mountain that is a silent memorial to fourteen men who died there in a plane crash on November 17, 1955.  These men were part of the secret development of the U-2 spy plane which was integral to America's success in the Cold War.

The U.S. government had to keep this mission a secret, which also meant they couldn't tell the truth to the families of the victims. They sealed the crash records, and set off explosives at the crash site to destroy any evidence of the existence of this new spy plane.
